In US, Pratt & Whitney with NASA Langley are hot-fire testing the hypersonic Ground Demonstration Engine (GDE-2) in a wind tunnel at Mach 5. This is the first test of a hydrocarbon-fuelled scramjet using a single integrated flow path, with systems of fuel control and thermal management.
