Energy purchasing: It's a game of two halves - and energy buyers are losing. Mark Dickinson. Energy World. June 2006 P. 12-13

As football fever is starting to grip the nation I cannot help but reflect on how the current situation facing consumers of energy in the UK has many of the features of a world cup final match; an epic struggle between two sides where there can only be one winner. The ‘beautiful’ energy game is capable of stirring great passion but, to those who are not immersed in it, can actually be rather dull.
Therefore, in order to bring some of these issues to life I would like you to consider the highlights of an epic match that is currently underway - Consumers versus Sellers in the world series of energy supply.
