Co-firing of biomass: Biomass co-firing in coal-fired power station boilers. D J Waldron and S Saimbi. Energy World. February 2006 P. 14-15

As the Energy Crops Revolution article says, one important way of turning some biomass products into energy is to co-fire them, alongside coal, in large coal-fired power station boilers. Indeed some UK electricity generators have started to do this at several locations. D J Waldron and S Saimbi, both from Alstom Power Ltd, describe the biomass co-firing process as applied to the Fiddlers Ferry power station in Britain and at another plant in The Netherlands.
