The Indian Government’s latest Five-Year Plans are targeting a two-fold increase in renewable energy production by 2012. If the target is achieved, renewable energy sources will account for 5% of India’s total forecast 200,000 MW of installed electricity generation capacity by that date, writes Davis Hayes.
