Heave oscillations of a submerged vertical cylinder in a viscous fluid. P. Ananthakrishnan. Trans. ISOPE, Internat. J. Offshore Polar Engng., September 1998, 8(3), 173--181.

The purpose of the study reported is to rigorously examine the importance of viscosity and free-surface nonlinearity in 3-D wave-body interactions encountered in ocean engineering applications. Viscous-flow formulation, inviscid flow formulation, solution of the viscous- and the inviscid-flow problem, and boundary-fitted co-ordinates are presented and discussed. 16 refs.
