Internet resources for the lubricant industry. S. Cowan. NLGI Spokesm., November 1998, 62(8), 14--19.

The Internet is described as a valuable tool for data processing in the lubricant industry. Information available to manufacturing sites includes company profiles, mailing addresses, product line descriptions, product specifications, packaging options, and services provided. Internet addresses are tabulated for manufacturers and distributors. Data are also given for additives, chemicals and oil companies, for petroleum-related organizations, for government departments and divisions, and for educational institutions. Miscellaneous sites involved in patents, nomenclature, software, equipment, sample tracking, sample testing, i.r. scans, lubricant technology, and industrial listings are also summarized.
