Attention is drawn to the use of the predictability of tidal streams to reduce the overall cost of the seismic expenditure of a survey. Details are presented of a proposed method with reference to a feasibility study and tidal prediction and matching and its application for a 3--D seismic campaign offshore Tierra del Fuego is reported.
