In the preliminary study reported, a broad-brush analysis is undertaken deliberately, because of the uncertainties concerning the future performance and costs of technologies that will be incorporated into the proposed system. However, the main aim being to draw attention to the expected environmental impacts of the proposed oil-shale integrated tri-generation system and appropriate mitigation measures that can be imagined at present. Details are given of the proposed plant and its operation and environmental impacts together with tabulated and schematic data. 76 refs.
