Effective and integrated waterflood-asset management is an essential factor in creating maximum economic value and oil recovery. Consideration being given to reservoir characterization, reservoir-fluid behaviour, drilling and operation of wells, and surface processing of fluids. The need ia stressed for technology development, waterflood designs, monitoring and surveillance to be focussed from an integrated point of view that involves geological, engineering, and operational aspects.
