European oil companies dismayed by Ospar ban on platform dumping. Anon. Offshore, September 1998, 58(9), 148, 186.

The effects of the Ospar (Oslo-Paris) Commission's definitive ruling on offshore abandonment are discussed. While steel installations are to be brought to shore with very few exceptions---even these being by no means certain, concrete platforms will be allowed to remain at sea. However drill cuttings and artificial reef options are still undecided. Details are given of jackets weighing more than 10 000 tons in the Ospar maritime area are listed.
