NORSOK has been a necessary driving force in recent developments in the Norwegian offshore industry. Safety management has adapted to the new situation to ensure a maintained safety level. An illustration is given of this adaptation by presenting examples of new methods and applications of risk analysis. Results and experience from a problem driven method development process are reviewed. 12 refs.
