Details are given of Welltech's wireline well tractor (WT) which has performed wireline operations in North Sea horizontal and deviated wells, including production logging with surface readout, running perforation guns and specialized tools, and setting and pulling plugs. The development phase, onshore qualification tests, tool description, and surface equipment are described. The WT has been used in numerous wells since March 1996, some three operations are reported.
