Determination of physicochemical properties and carbon type analysis of base oils using mid i.r. spectroscopy and partial least-squares regression analysis. M.I. Sastry et al. Energy and Fuels, March/April 1998, 12(2), 304--311.
Infra-red spectra of 60 base oils are reported. Paraffin content and viscosity were predicted by using the model and good correlation with experimental results was obtained. 25 refs.
