Steamflood expansion using slim-hole injectors. E.L. Dennis, K.R. Johnson and R.H. Kirby. SPE Reservoir Engng., May 1995, 10(2), 77--81.

Details are given of slim-hole injection wells which were drilled and completed for one-third the cost of conventional steam injectors. Major well cost savings resulted from a reduction in drilling rig, cementing, packer, and tubular costs. The slim-hole design provided 38 injectors and ten observation wells, whereas conventional well design would have required ten injection wells and three observation wells. The extra injection wells enabled improved steamflood management in this Californian Midway Sunset field. 8 refs.
