Development of a non-destructive evaluation method (NDE) for adhesively bonded GRP pipe connections offshore. A.B. Hansen and B. Asdal. Rev. Inst. Francais Petrole, January-February 1995, 50(1), 113--125.

A joint industry project is reported which was undertaken to develop and demonstrate reliable NDE methods capable of detecting critical flaws encountered in adhesive-bonded GRP pipe joints used offshore. Consideration being given to type of defects, critical flaw size, NDE capabilities, cost performance, and acceptance criteria. The results are presented and discussed together with tabulated data and various image illustrations. The impedance plane method used, which was originally developed for aerospace applications, is recommended for usage with bonded geometries found in the offshore industry. 5 refs.
