Contribution of environmental pressure to project vulnerability. E. Reynolds. Internat. J. Pressure Vessels Piping, 1995, 61(2--3), 257--281.

The need is stressed for examination of environmental impacts of processes and products as demanded by pressure groups and institutions. These demands, if not met, can threaten the viability of a project. It is considered that the largest threat as experienced by industry today in terms of `environmental' demands, is the required transparency of their activities and the dialogue that is necessary with community groups. An outline is included of the `business charter for sustainable development' launched by the International Chamber of Commerce, which contains 16 principles for establishing integrated environmental management systems. 23 refs.
