Combustion in double spiral burners. S.A. Lloyd. Ind. Engng. Chem. Res., July 1994, 33(7), 1809--1816.

Double spiral burners have been developed which allow very lean mixtures to be burned. The effects of radiation was studied by mathematical modelling in which these burners are treated as heat exchangers with a combustion chamber at the centre. The minimization of heat loss by radiation and the control of conduction losses is shown to be important in the design of these burners. 13 refs.
