The use of horizontal well technology has tapped attic oil deposits missed by existing vertical wells in northern Alberta. Consideration is given to the geological setting, well profiles, re-entry horizontal wells, section milling, geometric considerations, the liner, re-entry of abandoned wells, completions, and remedial operations.
