Consideration is given to how the development of the Forties field has evolved over the past 20-years, together with the current issues and activities, and direction for the future. Reservoir management is reviewed in some detail, improved oil recovery is outlined, and reservoir performance prediction is examined. Future planning which involves a yearly long-term planning exercise which is undertaken by a multidisciplinary team is also described. 16 refs.
