Multiple hydraulic fracture stimulation in a deep, horizontal tight-gas well. I.S. Abou-Sayed et al. JPT, February 1996, 48(2), 163--168.
An outline is given of the successful stimulation programme of a deep, tight (10 to 30 microdarcies) gas sand from a horizontal well with four vertical fractures---Well Soehlingen Z10, in the tight Rotliegendes sandstone, onshore Germany. Details are presented of the breakdown multiple-rate injectivity test, use of proppant erosion stages to reduce near-wellbore restrictions, and minifracture data analysis. The use of open annulus to analyse the stimulation treatment and to modify the design is also discussed. 22 refs.
