Detailed consideration is given to offshore information and forecasting services, seabed survey in support of engineering of all kinds, military activity and transport, and exploration of deep waters beyond the edge of the continental shelf. The aim being to identify emerging marine markets and their technology needs; emerging technologies which could lead to new (as yet unforeseen) markets, and policy issues hampering market development. 31 refs.
