Stress, health and the offshore work environment. K. Parkes. Offshore Tech. Rept., Paper. Proc. Conf., Occupational health offshore, pages 127--138. (See abstract 459 for complete reference).

With the focus on empirical research, details are reviewed, with examples from the literature, of ways in which measures of the physical and psychosocial environment relate to psychological and psychosomatic aspects of health among offshore workers. Some of the problems encountered in interpreting such research are identified, and a recent study of onshore and offshore employees is described. 21 refs.
