Consideration is given to the current state of offshore structural repair technology, together with relevant design criteria and legislative requirements. Attention is drawn to the specific problems of deep water repair of pipelines and the application of hyperbaric welding research, due to its future relevance to structural applications, and feasible repair technologies are discussed. 33 refs.
