71,344 thousand barrels of oil were traded daily in 2018, an increase of 2% compared to the previous year. 



The Middle East region is, by far, the biggest exporter, followed by Russia and the Asia Pacific region, with the USA not far behind having increased its exports in 2018 bynearly 22% compared to 2017.



While the USA remains a  large importer (imording 9.9 million barrels daily) its imports were down by 2% in 2018.
