Hydrogen: Can the UK ever catch up?

With car makers increasing investment in hydrogen fuel cell research, the UK is lagging behind. In January, the Government unveiled its latest hydrogen initiative to ensure the UK is well positioned for hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles. This research is proposed by the new UKH2Mobility project, which is made up of 13 participants representing utility, gas, infrastructure and car makers with significant hydrogen fuel-cell research programmes including Nissan, Toyota and Vauxhall, but not Honda.
