EI celebrates excellence in energy The winners of this year's Energy Institute (EI) Awards were announced at a ceremony in London on 17 November hosted by physicist and BBC Science presenter, Professor Brian Cox OBE. The Awards recognise innovation and excellence amongst individuals and organisations working in the global energy sector. Winners were selected as best in their category from a panel of judges representing all areas of the energy sector. Communication Award, sponsored by ReNews Winner - Transform UK: Green Investment Bank campaign. Highly commended - Magna Carta: Interactive energy efficiency stand. Community Initiative Award, sponsored by Nexen Winner - Solar Electric Light Fund: Empowering women with solar irrigation (pictured). Highly commended - E.ON UK: Challenge 100 - turning theory into action to eradicate fuel poverty. Energy Excellence Award, sponsored by Ninox Energy Winner - Ameresco Canada: City of Vancouver and Ameresco Canada - partners to reduce corporate emissions. Highly commended - Beech Properties: Green property landlord Beech Properties pioneers the use of renewable energy.
