PV.tif A large solar power PV project in the south of France has come on-line. The Les Mées solar farm (pictured) in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence comprises six PV plants from Siemens for Eco Delta Développement (EDD). The 31 MW farm consists of 112,000 solar modules. It covers an area of 70 ha. Elsewhere in France, a new solar PV plant has been inaugurated in Distré, in the region of Maine-et-Loire. The 2 MW plant contains 8,500 modules and is located on 1.5 ha of wasteland. According to module manufacturer Kyocera, the plant is the largest in north-western France, and was established as a sustainable solution for the reclamation of a wasteland.
