ExxonMobil recently completed an expansion to what is claimed to be the world’s largest carbon dioxide (CO2) capture plant, located near LaBarge, Wyoming, US. The $86mn project included the installation of compressors to capture 50% more CO2 from Wyoming gas fields for potential use in enhanced oil recovery and other industrial uses. Following the expansion, the plant has the capacity to capture approximately 365mn cf/d of CO2 from the gas streams - equivalent to the amount emitted by more than 1.5mn cars according to ExxonMobil.
