Aker Solutions’ subsidiary Aker Construction Canada, with its joint venture partner Burns & McDonnell Canada, has successfully completed the engineering, procurement and construction of the Halton Hills 684 MW 2x1 combined cycle natural gas fired plant for TransCanada Energy. Located in Ontario, Canada, this generating facility is part of the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) initiative to help meet the critical energy and stability needs of the south-west greater Toronto area. The station provides reliability to support Ontario’s growing renewable energy electricity production from wind and solar, whilst contributing towards replacing coal-fired power generation.
