TNK-BP has announced that its gas-gathering project at the Samotlor field in Russia has been approved for implementation under the Kyoto Protocol. TNK-BP has completed the approvals procedure for the project and been granted the right to sell its first Emission Reduction Units (ERUs), equivalent to 846,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, on the international market.
