G K Salter & Associates (gksa), a low carbon building services design consultant based in Swanley & Bristol, has partnered with Aaron Steele, who is racing what is claimed to be the world’s first ever sustainable F3 racing car at Brands Hatch on 18 October. Developed by the University of Warwick, the car has components made from carrots and potatoes, and runs on biofuels made from a range of materials including chocolate and fermented wine dregs. The sustainable approach includes bodywork that is made of recycled materials and features a steering wheel that is composed of waste from juiced carrots. The 230 bhp engine is made from recycled aluminium.
