The Canadian government will match the automotive emissions standards being introduced by the US’ Obama administration, writes Keith Nuthall. Canada’s Environment Minister Jim Prentice said: ‘We will work together to ensure we have a single, dominant North American standard for carbon emissions and fuel economy.’ Canadian rules would employ the metric system, but mirror US gallon-based fuel measurements, he said.
