International legal practice Norton Rose has advised Norwegian energy company StatoilHydro on the sale of a 50% stake in Scira Offshore Energy to Statkraft, a Norwegian-based generator of renewable energy. Scira is the owner of the Sheringham Shoal wind farm project offshore the UK. Construction will begin in early summer 2009 and a gradual start-up of production is scheduled for 2011. When completed, the wind farm will consist of 88 turbines and is planned to produce enough electricity to power around 220,000 UK homes per annum.
