The recently launched Advisory Committee on Carbon Abatement Technologies (ACCAT) has been re-established to provide expert independent advice to government ministers and others on the technical, commercial, social, economic and regulatory issues around the deployment of carbon abatement technologies - in the UK and globally. The Committee is actively seeking applications from interested members of the Energy Institute who have a broad knowledge of energy policy and energy markets and an appreciation of carbon abatement technologies. EI members would have the opportunity to contribute - in a voluntary capacity - to a forum for discussion between industry, academia and the government on the development of such technologies, helping to shape government policy and strategy to meet the climate change targets set out in the recent Energy White Paper.
