As part of a drive to divest assets in a bid to boost its liquidity Dynegy is understood to be planning to sell a large portion of its Canadian gas business to oil and gas marketing company Seminole Group of Tulsa for an undisclosed sum. It is also reported to be selling its 50% stake in Tidal Energy Marketing to Seminole. The company has already sold Northern Natural Gas to MidAmerican Energy Holdings for $1.8bn; its Hornsea gas storage site on the UK east coast to Scottish & Southern Energy for $200mn; and the transmission assets of Illinois Power to Trans-Elect for $239mn. It is also understood to still be seeking buyers for some of its US power facilities as well as its 100bn cf Rough offshore UK storage facility.
