The oil and gas extraction, chemicals manufacturing and petroleum industries Sector Skills Council (SSC) has received a licence to operate under the name ‘cogent’. The SSC will be chaired by John Mumford, Director of BP Oil UK. Congratulating the Council on securing its licence, John Healey MP, Minister of Adult Skills, Department for Education and Skills, pledged £2mn to be invested in the Council over the next two years.
