Mexico is reported to have reaffirmed that it will reduce its oil production by 100,000 b/d in 1H2002 in a bid to help Opec bolster oil prices. The Energy Ministry said that the new export cap would be 1.66mn b/d - a cut from what the country had forecast in its 2002 budget, but roughly in line with November 2001 average exports.
