Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil gas deal

Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil have signed a heads of agreement for the largest US liquefied natural gas import project in a deal which could require more than 20 giant LNG carriers. The 25-year agreement covers the development of two large LNG trains with combined capacity of 15.6m tons a year by Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas II (RasGas II).Investment, including ships, is $12bn. First delivery of LNG is expected in 2008-09.
