Dozen LNG giants for Qatargas 3 project
A Liquefied natural gas project worth $5bn and requiring up to 12 giant newbuildings has been unveiled by Qatar Petroleum and ConocoPhillips, the US energy group. The 25-year project, which will use ships of 200,000 cu m-220,000 cu m, will supply 1bn cu ft of gas a day to the US market. The project is expected to need 10-12 of these “state-of-the art” LNG carriers.
