ExxonMobil signs Qatar LNG UK import contract
ExxonMobil has signed a contract with Qatar Petroleum to develop two liquefied natural gas trains in Qatar to supply UK gas markets for 25 years from 2006. Under the agreement, ExxonMobil will have a 30% stake in the venture and Qatar Petroleum will have a 70% working interest. The project will develop gas from Qatar’s giant North field. ExxonMobil is seeking potential sites in the UK to build an LNG import terminal.
