Turkish tender for Baku-Ceyhan pipeline engineering design announced

Turkey's state pipeline company Botas launched a tender today for preparatory engineering work on the Turkish section of the planned 1m barrels per day Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline. Botas invited bidders through an advertisement in the Official Gazette for a tender for a 'detailed engineering design, environmental impact assessment and coordination of the securing of provisional rights to permanent land'. Tender documents are available from Botas until July 28 and bids are to be returned by August 17. The estimated $1.3bn cost of the 1,037 km Turkish section of the line will be met by the builders, a further tender for which will be launched after pre-qualification work.
