Biogas in transport, Energy World, February 2020, p 23

In UK, transport is responsible for 26% of all carbon emissions, and 45% of all NOx pollutants. The 2040 ban on fossil-fuelled vehicles does not include HGVs, lorries and buses, but organisations such as Waitrose, Ocado and Hermes are already using biomethane-fuelled fleets, and the Post Office is trialling its long-haul trucks. Reductions of 85 to 95% in CO2 have been reported, together with estimates of sufficient capacity to power 80% of the country’s entire bus fleet, and 75% of all HGVs.
