GP Global marked a milestone on 25 September 2019 with the successful delivery of the first International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2020 compliant bunker load of low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO). The global conglomerate made its maiden delivery via its 6,000-tonne bunker barge at the Port of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The IMO 2020 directive sets a global sulphur limit of 0.50% as of 1 January 2020, down from the current 3.5%.
