In US, Aurora Flight Sciences, under Boeing as its new owners, have built a massive 74 m span 6 propeller, 3-fuselage, solar-powered unmanned aircraft designed to operate above 65 000 ft for up to 3 months at latitudes up to 20 degrees. The aircraft uses integrated thin-film gallium-arsenide solar cells, together with lithium-polymer batteries located in the fuselages.
