Energy Institute Council welcomes new members

Decorative image New
Three new faces have joined the EI’s governing Council following voting by members earlier in the summer, bringing with them fresh insight into to the global energy scene.

Sinead Obeng AMEI, Regulatory Affairs Advisor for Gazprom Marketing and Trading joins on behalf of young professionals. Dr Waddah Ghanem FEI, Senior Director for Sustainability, Operational and Business Excellence at ENOC joins representing the EI’s branches. And Dr Simon O’Leary FEI, Principal Lecturer and Director of University Research Centre on Entrepreneurship and Family Business at Regent’s University London also joins as an elected member.

As reported previously, former National Grid Chief Executive Steve Holliday FREng FEI was also chosen as President Elect, and will take up post in July 2019.

With sadness, Council must say goodbye to a number of post holders whose service has been of tremendous value over recent years – notably Past President Professor Jim Skea CBE FEI; Jaz Rabadia MBE MEI and Carl Hughes FEI. We hope and know all three will continue to stay close to the EI and play active roles in other ways.
