Dr James Buckee awarded Honorary Fellowship

Dr James Buckee, who transformed Talisman Energy during 14 years at the helm, has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the EI by EI President Malcolm Brinded CBE FREng FEI at the Annual General Meeting in July. 

An Honorary Fellowship is the highest category of EI membership and is approved by the EI’s Council after nominations are submitted to the Nominations Committee. 

Jim has held various positions at BP, Shell International and Burma Oil before becoming President and Chief Executive Officer at Talisman Energy in 1993. In his time leading the company, Talisman grew from 50,000 boe/d to more than 500,000 boe/d. Since retiring in 2007 Jim served as a non-executive officer at EnQuest as well as serving as a non-executive director on the board of Rodinia Oil Corp., PetroFrontier Corp., Magma Global and Black Swan Energy. Jim is also on the advisory board of KERN Partners.
