Fuel cell trains ‘on their way to the UK’, Energy World, June 2018, p 11

In UK, Alstom is providing their fuel cell technology to Eversholt Rail in terms of conversion of Class 322 electric trains. It is pointed out that hydrogen trains are zero carbon, near silent, with no particulate emissions, avoiding the cost of line electrification. This is in response to remove diesel rolling stock by 2040.
