In the alternative aviation fuel world, interest is growing in developing from carbon capture and storage procedures into carbon capture and use, one approach being the manufacture of synthetic fuels.   The optimal estimate to date is that 7 gigatonnes of CO2 could be used as such by year 2030, but this is still only a relatively small proportion of current annual emissions.
