L Newmark, 1866 More support needed, Petroleum Review, February 2018, p 26

In Europe, the EU has finally committed to a minimal target of 27% renewable energy, including 14% for the transport sector, by 2030.   Recommended feedstocks include lignocellulose, algae, and methyl ester from waste or tallow.   Other non-food feedstocks include willow and miscanthus.   For aviation applications, the preferred sources are algae, jatropha and camelina.   Most biofuels come from wheat, sugar cane, maize or rapeseed.   Alternative opinions are expressed, but it is agreed that low carbon biofuels are to be welcomed
