G Warwick, Retrofit electric, Aviation Week & Space Technology, 27 November-10 December 2017, p 34

In US, Ampaire is approaching electric propulsion by means of retrofitting an already certified aircraft, and then proceeding to supplemental type certification of the electric drivetrain. The aims are to fly a modified 6-seat aircraft next year and, with other companies, a 9-seat aircraft by 2020, based on today’s battery energy densities of 350 Wh/kg considered viable.
